Discipline Procedures

 

In my 1st grade class I use the card system. There are 4 cards ( green, yellow, orange, and red). Students are given several to correct their behavior before cards are pulled. Once a card is pulled there are different consequences depending on the color of the card that is pulled. 

Green - All is good. Students want to stay on this card. Once the green card is pulled that is a warning. 

Yellow - Once a yellow card is pulled, this results in loss of free time or recess time - 10 minutes. 

Orange - Loss of free time or 15 minutes of recess and a phone call or note home to parents.   

Red - All chances have been exhausted and this results in trip to the principal's office.
