Title IX Summary of procedures for Faculty, Staff, and Coaches

 Mandatory Reporting Requirement

All coaches and teachers are mandatory reporters. If you see, hear, or suspect sexual harassment, you must report it immediately.

What Counts as Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment includes unwelcome conduct based on sex that affects a student’s access to education. This includes sexual comments, jokes, gestures, images, messages, unwanted touching, or conditioning grades, playing time, or benefits on sexual conduct.

What To Do

  • Ensure safety if there is immediate risk.

  • Listen calmly and support the student.

  • Do not promise confidentiality.

  • Do not investigate or confront anyone.

  • Report the concern the same day to the Title IX Coordinator.

What Not To Do

Do not investigate, promise confidentiality, discourage a report, share information, or retaliate in any way.

Coaches — Additional Expectations

Closely supervise locker rooms, travel, and one‑on‑one settings. Never use playing time, positions, or team status as leverage for personal conduct.

Failure to follow these procedures may result in disciplinary action. Aligned with Overton County Board of Education Policy 6.3041.
