My Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is what I strongly and earnestly believe in, and it is something I take with great seriousness. In my physical education program, there is one aspect that I will focus on first and foremost, which is teaching students skills necessary for healthy living that can be used now and throughout their lifetime. I will strive to encourage and show compassion towards my students. I will strive to always have a positive attitude towards my students, so that if they are having a rough day, they can leave my class with a better attitude and outlook than when they arrived.

I will expect 100% effort every day from my students, because when effort is shown learning and understanding can occur. I will never treat one student better than another; they will all be equal in my eyes. I will try to know all my students on a personal level, so that I can figure out how they can learn and participate best. I will expect all students to help one another, not to bring students down. When students show care and compassion to their peers, that is when a comfortable environment for learning and participation is formed. All these are important keys for each one of my classes, so that they can learn about health and wellness through physical education and live an overall healthy life, physically, mentally, and socially.
