8th Math

Course Description

Students use linear functions, linear equations, and system of equations to represent, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Students extend their understanding of slope as a constant rate of change and use slope to analyze situations and solve problems. They apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find distances between points in the coordinate plane to measure lengths.

Module topics include

  • Rational and irrational numbers
  • Solving linear equations
  • Functions and linearity
  • Systems
  • Pythagorean Theorem
  • Exponents and scientific notation
  • Transformations
  • Geometric relationships
  • Volume of cones, spheres, and cylinders
